Description
Cleaning the hot tub filters and cleaning them regularly is very important not only for clean and healthy water in the hot tub, but also for the life of the pumps and the quality of the hydromassage.
Neglected filters lose their filtering capacity, are themselves pollutants in the hot tub water, reduce the performance of the hydromassage and the lifetime of the pumps, which have to put much more stress on dirty and neglected filters. The noise level of the whirlpool is also increased.
The filters should be cleaned regularly 1 x per week or every 10 days, but no later than every 14 days. It all depends on the size of the hot tub, the quality of the water, the number of filters, the quality of the filters, the filter area, the hygiene of the hot tub inlet, the set filter cycles of the hot tub and the frequency of use of the hot tub.
Most important for the actual life of the filters and their ability to filter during the manufacturer’s specified lifetime, which is one year, are the first two weeks after the hot tub is filled with new water.
It is extremely important to filter scale and sludge out of the water as soon as possible. During these first 10 days to two weeks, clean the filters every day, every two days at most, to prevent limescale and sludge from literally “carbonating” your filters. During this phase, clean the filters with water only. Use the excellent and uniquely filter-friendly Filter Sprinkler for this purpose.
The best practice for cleaning hot tub filters is to clean them over a clean empty bucket of at least 10 litres, always finishing when the water in the bucket is completely clear, never before. Only the water column of a full bucket will tell you if the filters are really clean anymore, if the water is clear to the bottom, the filters are clean, if not repeat the process.
After the first 14 days of filling, you will also be using Aqua Excellent Filter Cleaner for regular weekly, 10 day or 14 day cleanings to rid the filters of biological debris.
Purpose: One of the prerequisites for crystal clear water in a hot tub or swim spa is clean filters.
Always clean the filters thoroughly first with water to remove mechanical debris and then with Aqua Excellent Filter Cleaner to remove biological debris.
Always use only the original filter cleaning tool – Filter Sprinkler – to clean the filters.
Packaging: plastic box, 0.5 kg cleaning powder with measuring cup.
Instructions for use: simple use only once a week / 10 days, maximum 14 days /
1. Remove the filter from the hot tub and clean it thoroughly with water using the Sprinkler Filter Cleaning Tool.
2. Place the filter in a bucket or other suitable container.
3. Scoop 2 scoops of Filter Cleaner and pour it into the container.
4. Fill the container with hot water and insert the filter.
5. Leave the filter soaked in this solution for 1-1.5 hours, but you can leave it longer.
If necessary, turn it occasionally so that it is completely submerged in water if the container is smaller than the filter.
6. Then remove the filter and rinse thoroughly with a stream of water and place in a whirlpool or allow to dry if you are using two sets of filters
7. It is also advisable to disinfect the cleaned filters so that they do not catch mould if you leave them to dry freely. Place the cleaned filters overnight / or for 8 – 12 hours / in a suitable container with DUOZON 100L solution (15 ml per 10 litres of water). Then remove the filters and leave them to dry freely. In this way they will be safely ready for further use.
WARNING: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN!
The most suitable container, in my long experience, is a sewer pipe with a plug two to three centimetres larger than the diameter of the filters and 0.5m to 1m in length, depending on the length of the filters and the number of filters, so that they all fit in one pipe.
Normally, a length of one metre with plug is sufficient for two filters.
This way you get the highest efficiency of Aqua Excellent Filter Cleaner. Place the filters in the pipe through the hole at the top so they do not float out, leave them soaking and then spray them thoroughly with water as described above.
Allow clean filters to dry freely if you have spares and rotate them during cleaning. If not, put them back in the hot tub immediately after cleaning.
If the water filtration in your hot tub is insufficient, use an external microfiltration! It is an excellent tool that will save you time, work, money and worry.
Even the best filters of the best hot tubs filter from a maximum of 20 microns upwards, everything under 20 microns, dead or alive, is constantly circulating in the hot tub water.
Our external microfiltration is 7 times more efficient and effective.
It filters out impurities even from seemingly clean water, so it is an excellent aid in prevention as well.
In addition, its use saves hot tub filters, the consumption of hot tub chemicals, and it serves you very well as a vacuum cleaner for the bottom and seats of the hot tub.
